Safe School Ambassadors
Students know more than adults what is going on behind the scenes in schools. They often know who needs help, who is angry and who is being left out. Safe School Ambassadors are trained to notice, act and support their fellow students. They might welcome a newcomer, interrupt teasing, or simply model tolerance and respectful behavior. SSAs will try to link students with existing sources of support without taking on the responsibility of solving the problem themselves. SSAs receive training on how to do this,
using their own personalities and style. SSAs also meet twice monthly as a group in order to make sure all is going well and to provide support and feedback to each other. Safe school Ambassadors are dedicated to keep ACMS a warm, safe , respectful ( and fun!) school!
